FAQ

Where does Dirt raft run training schools?

We operate up and down the UK at a hand full of different locations which means there will always be a Training school within driving distance. We use purpose built Flat Track circuits as well as Speedway tracks. Check out our bookings page for upcoming dates and locations.

What can I expect from a day spent with Dirt Craft?

Our Slide Schools are a mix of group sessions and 1 to 1 tuition with plenty of track time. Throughout the day our trainers will explain different areas of riding technique including on track demonstrations. We will then let groups of riders take to the track to try it for themselves. We keep the atmosphere relaxed and a fun day riding motorcycles. All circuits are Dirt ovals with no jumps or bumps to catch you out. It’s easy to go around in a circle but to do it fast is an art in itself.

What about the bikes?

We provide our Royal Enfield FT411 training bikes. These are converted from stock Royal Enfield Himalayans using an S&S cycles kit to transform them into the perfect training machine.

  • 411cc single cyinder engine

  • Full S&S exhaust system

  • Custom seat unit provides low seat height and perfect stance

  • 19” wheels fitted with competition flat track tyres

  • Wide flat track bars for great feel

We also provide a steel skid shoe. Typical in flat track, this lets your left boot slide over the ground.

What do I need to bring on the day?

You will need to bring your own protective clothing. This could be leathers, kevlars, mx kit etc.

Helmet, must be full face with visor or goggles

Boots, road bike, race, MX. Must be over the ankle.

We also highly recommend knee, elbow and back protection

Make sure you also bring some food and drink!

Do I need previous experience?

All we ask is that you are able to competently ride a geared motorcycle. No off road or racing experience is required. We generally split all participants into groups depending on their speed.

Is there a minimum age limit?

Minimum age limit is 18 years old for all our Royal Enfield Slide School events

How long is the day?

In general it is up to 5 hours with 4 hours of track time

This can vary slightly depending on location so please check the information in the bookings page.

Is it dangerous?

We do our best to reduce the risks as much as possible. All our staff are highly experienced and have a trainers licence with Nora motorsport. We put provisions in place to make sure our days are as safe as possible. As with all motorcycle riding there are some unavoidable risks associated and you may have a fall but this is all part of the learning process. Compared with tarmac riding or motocross the risks of injury are much less when it comes to Flat Track.
